What is Frostfire Mine?
Frostfire Mine is a solo event where you enter a separate battlefield and collect Orichalcum. The standard battle lasts 30 minutes and is available to eligible Furnace 16+ Chiefs when the event appears.
⛏️ The goal
Finish with as much Orichalcum as possible. You get it from veins, scattered piles, patrol-related activities and — when you are strong/fast enough — taking opportunities from other players.
🪨 Veins
Higher-level veins gather faster, but the “best” vein is the one you can actually hold. A smaller Chief sitting safely on a Level 2 vein can outperform somebody who spends half the event repeatedly losing a Level 3.
⚔️ Losing is temporary
Your real city troops are not permanently lost in Frostfire Mine. If a deployed Hero squad is defeated, those Heroes enter a recovery cooldown before they can fight again.
🏃 Normal movement bonuses are different here
Century Games notes that normal Position, Gathering and Marching Speed bonuses do not apply in Frostfire Mine. Frostfire-specific skills can provide battlefield movement/gathering effects instead.
🧠 Build your Frostfire skills deliberately
Defeating Mine Patrols provides experience for the event skill tree. Common approaches use early Patrols to unlock movement or Orichalcum-generating skills before committing heavily to veins.
🌋 Watch for special opportunities
Vein Outbursts and the central Smelter can create bursts of value. Watch the event announcements and do not be halfway across the map with every march committed when a high-value window opens.
📍 Teleports are a weapon
Frostfire provides battlefield teleport options. Use them to reposition toward better veins or away from a player who has decided your mining operation belongs to them.
⚠️ Common Frostfire mistakes
- Spending too long fighting someone you cannot beat.
- Assuming normal gathering speed applies.
- Ignoring Patrols and the skill tree.
- Chasing the center while leaving easy Orichalcum untouched.
- Forgetting that thirty minutes disappears very quickly.
🍪 The Big Lesson
Frostfire rewards efficiency. Orichalcum per minute matters more than proving you can fight everybody you see.
